Unit Summary:

The Imaging Center offers digital technology including 3D digital mammography, computer-aided detection, stereotactic breast biopsies, ultrasound and bone-density testing. The Imaging Center features same-day test results for diagnostic imaging and, if needed, additional testing during the same visit. Patients also have the option to have same day breast biopsy if indicated, which helps alleviate the stress and worry of waiting for additional testing.

Position Summary:

The most common procedures our Imaging Services RN assists with include:

• CT Guided Bx/Aspirations: Liver, Lung, Bone Marrow, Bone, Kidney, Psoas Muscle, Omentum, etc. These procedures require Moderate Sedation administration and monitoring of patient.
• Pain Clinic: All varieties of injections; Spinal Cord Stimulator Trials, MILDS
• Paracentesis and Thoracentesis
• Peripheral Vascular cases: Angiograms, Venograms, Venous ablations, fistulagrams, DVT Removals, etc.

Other job responsibilities include:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Nursing, required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
• Current RN to practice in the state of KY
• Certifications: BCLS within 30 days of hire
